Stella Massey

Stella Massey is a founder member of Chambers who played a prominent role in developing its range of work and ethos, in Chambers earlier years.  Prior to being called to the Bar, Stella worked as a social worker dealing in mental health and childcare work.  She also lectured in law in various colleges, and also in trade union studies and women's studies.  For many years she had a close involvement in trade union activities.  

Although she undertakes family law, particularly in relation to child care and section 8 Children Act applications, her main work has evolved into criminal defence.  She works virtually exclusively in the Crown Courts, and has represented defendants across the whole spectrum including murder, attempted murder, rape, armed robberies, blackmail, serious assaults, violent disorder, drug trafficking and firearms offences. 

Stella is a member of the Serious Fraud Group in Chambers.

Stella is a highly respected lawyer both in and out of Chambers.  Her commitment to justice has made her popular with many instructing solicitors.
