James Collins

Qualifications: BA (Hons) (First Class) Law, Gray's Inn Award

James Collins is perhaps most known for his work in immigration and asylum, which he has conducted with distinction, leading him to be named legal aid Barrister of the Year in 2006.

He appears regularly in the High Court on judicial review proceedings, and the Court of Appeal, as well as at different levels of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.   He works as much in London as he does in the North West. 

He also undertakes extensive criminal defence work, and his cases include drugs, serious assault, unlawful possession of offensive weapons, conspiracy and public order, and dangerous driving.

On the civil side, he has experience of family law, including domestic violence work and of housing and landlord and tenant. 

A keen mind, concentration, commitment and impressive advocacy skills are James's hallmarks.  
He is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.
