From the start, Gwen has specialised in criminal defence, most particularly in the Crown Court, where she appears regularly. This was inspired by her commitment to human rights and civil liberties. Her caseload includes serious assault, rape and other sexual offences, dishonesty including fraud, all manner of drug offences, harassment and public order offences. Gwen not only appears in the Crown Court, but also in the Court of Appeal when necessary. In addition, she undertakes civil actions against the police and inquests as well as some prison law.
Gwen exudes positive thinking and her open personality has made her popular amongst many clients, both professional and lay. You will find that she is always willing to go the extra mile in terms of helping with understanding the law and the particular developments in the cases she is involved with.
Gwen regularly speaks to groups of school children and students about life at the Criminal Bar, and has helped at schools' mock trial competitions.
